Remembering Eileen Bennin: Advocate, Leader, and Beloved Friend
It is with profound sadness that Glenkirk shares the passing of our esteemed board member, Eileen Bennin, on September 7, 2025.
Eileen was a loving wife and devoted mother to two adult children with disabilities. For decades, she was a tireless advocate for the full inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in every part of society. Her commitment to advancing this mission made her a dedicated champion of Glenkirk and all those we serve.
Eileen’s impact on Glenkirk is immeasurable. She founded and chaired Glenkirk’s annual Benefit Bash, which over 27 years has raised more than $4 million in support of our programs and services. Her vision and leadership transformed the Benefit Bash into a cornerstone of our community, ensuring that countless individuals could access the supports they need to thrive.
Her legacy will live on through the programs she helped strengthen and the lives she touched. Her absence will be deeply felt not only at Glenkirk but also across the broader community where her voice and compassion made a lasting difference.
Our heartfelt thoughts are with the Bennin family and loved ones during this difficult time. Eileen will be missed by all who knew her.
