Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (IBJI), one of the largest independent, physician-owned orthopedic practices in the United States, is proud to announce the continuation of a partnership between the IBJI CARES Foundation and the Northbrook-based nonprofit organization Glenkirk to support its mission to serve those in the community with intellectual disabilities.
IBJI CARES established the charitable partnership in 2020, but due to challenges related to COVID-19, the desired fundraising goals could not be achieved in 2020 and 2021. Extending the partnership into 2022 will provide more opportunities to benefit Glenkirk with better attendance at scheduled events.

WE MUST CONTINUE TO DO BETTER - Support Full DHS Rate Study Funds in FY23
Governor Pritzker has proposed his state fiscal year budget that put forward a $94.8 million investment in new funding for the Guidehouse Rate study, which is the roadmap for sustainable I/DD funding in Illinois. While we greatly appreciate this investment, this investment falls short of the total $246.8 million needed to FULLY fund the rate study as called for in the report. We desperately need full funding to ensure a living wage for staff and to build capacity needed to pull Illinois back into compliance with the Ligas Consent Decree and prepare for implementation of the federal home and community-based rules by next year.
We are gearing up for Giving Tuesday! Giving Tuesday, traditionally held the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. For over 60 years, with your support, Glenkirk has strived to help make our community a better place – a place where all of us are respected, accepted and valued.
Thank you for your generosity in these challenging times.
We are very sorry to announce that we will be cancelling our in-person Benefit Bash event which would have been held in October at Ravinia Green Country Club.
Kurt moved from his family home to join the Glenkirk family in the fall of 2018. He now lives at our beautiful new Arrowhead residence with five housemates. With support from his family and his Glenkirk team, Kurt is able to imagine his best life, explore the opportunities around him, and ultimately connect with his community.
